The Good Master tells a simple story of Hungarian farm life in the early twentieth century. These books are living history at its best! They’re a window that gives a glimpse into the early twentieth century your family will never forget. Best of all, these books tell an engaging story: a story about two cousins and a farm and a war and a lost way of life. Both books were Newberry Honor books and much lauded. My favorite books by Seredy are the The Good Master and its sequel. She wrote prolifically and was also a talented artist who illustrated her own books.
